It's a movie in 2001, it touched my heart with Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning's truthful emotions.
Great acting skills or whatever expressions doesn't mean anything when simple words and expressions could bring us the feeling of the moment.
It's about,
Sam Dawson has the mental capacity of a 7-year-old. He works at Starbucks and is obsessed with the Beatles. He has a daughter with a homeless woman; she abandons them as soon as they leave the hospital. He names his daughter Lucy Diamond (after the Beatles song), and raises her. But as she reaches age 7 herself, Sam's limitations start to become a problem at school; she's intentionally holding back to avoid looking smarter than him. The authorities take her away, and Sam shames high-priced lawyer Rita Harrison into taking his case pro bono. In the process, he teaches her a great deal about love, and whether it's really all you need.
It touched my heart because of others beginning to doubt that does Sam have the capability to give education to Lucy and what she needs to have when she is slowly growing up. At the same time, Sam tries to tell others that these are no matter when he knows that he loves her and will try everything he could do for her as a father. But still, others thought he couldn't do it. They thought for the sake of Lucy, they want her to have a family that could give her education.
The struggling of fighting her daughter back. The pure love that lies inside a father's heart to love his child. Tears and laughter. It's a movie thats worth of watching.
A recommended movie by me,
